Now, let's look at some of the reasons why back pain is developing into such a unique menace. In general, the body is pretty good at self-repair. A strain or a blow to a limb, though painful at the time, generally resolves itself. But the body's response to back injury can be very counter-productive. When pain strikes, we attempt to keep the back as immobile as possible, which makes the muscles tense up. Research shows that they often go into spasm, which causes further twisting of the spine. A vicious circle is underway.

A tutorial is perhaps where most of the learning occurs at a university. You will be divided into groups of between 12 and 15 students and each week one of you will have to present a piece of work to the group as a whole and then the group will discuss what you’ve said. It’s this discussion, this exchange of ideas, which really constitutes the basis of university learning, in my view. Listening to lectures in many ways is just giving you information that you could access for yourself in the library but the discussion at the tutorial is very important. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go to the lectures though!

Ответ D (provides an alternative to group work) также не подходит, так как несмотря на то, что в записи есть упоминание ключевой фразы group work, отсутствует информация из второй части ответа — alternative.

 

Запись (Вопрос 2)

Other factors to be particularly concerned about are the structure of essays and delivery of written material and in particular I would like to mention the question of plagiarism. Plagiarism is taking other people’s work without acknowledging it, that is, without saying where it comes from. Of course all essays are based on research done by other people but you must remember to attribute the work to the original writer. And while it’s a good idea to work with other people, don’t hand in work which is exactly the same as your friend’s work because we will notice!

Ответ С (share work with their friends) также неверный потому что опять же отсутствует связь с вопросом —  в записи нигде нет информации, что автор именно советует работать вместе (фраза it’s a good idea to work with other people используется не для того, чтобы именно посоветовать поработать вместе, а для того, чтобы предостеречь от копирования работы тех, с кем работаешь вместе).

Ответ D (avoid using other writers ideas) тоже не подходит потому что прямо противоречит сказанному - all essays are based on research done by other people. 

 

Часть 3. Вопрос 1

At Pedal Power  we collect second-hand bikes in the UK and send them to some of the poorest regions in the world. When we distribute bikes overseas we don't give them away for free. We'd like to, but in the long term that doesn't really help the local economy. The demand for bikes is enormous, which makes them very expensive locally. So we sell them for 5% of the normal price. But in order to continue operating we need to have a constant supply of bikes which we send out every six months.

Ответ С (charging for the bicycles it sends abroad) тоже не подходит потому что несмотря на то, что информация в ответе — charging for bikes присутствует в записи — sell them at 5%, нет связи с самим вопросом — Dan says the charity relies on, то есть нигде не говорится о том, что компания Pedal Power полагается именно на этот аспект в своей работе.

Most people there now own a bicycle. The local economy has developed so much, you wouldn't recognise it as the same place. In fact, there are more bikes than on the streets of Amsterdam, if you've ever been there.

Ответ А (It has received the greatest number of bikes) неправильный так как несмотря на присутствие фраз с похожим значением — It received bikes → I sent bikes, отсутствует вторая ключевая фраза из ответа — the greatest number.

Ответ B (Its economy has been totally transformed) тоже не подходит потому что несмотря на то, что в записи есть ключевые слова из ответа -bikes, Amsterdam, еще одна ключевая фраза из ответа противоречит фразе в записи — almost as many bikes ≠ more bikes than.


Запись — вопрос 3 

But Pedal Power still needs your help. You may have read about some of our recent problems in the British media. In August 2000  we simply ran out of money. We had containers of bikes ready to send but no money to pay the bills. It was a terrible situation. We managed to ensure the bikes went out on time, but the other problems carried on for several months.

Ответ С (It was criticised in the British media) тоже не подходит потому что несмотря на то, что  ключевая фразы из ответа in the British media используется в записи без изменений — in the British media, нет связи с вопросом, так как это событие произошло до упоминания августа 2000. Кроме того, в записи отсутствует ключевая фраза criticised из ответа.
